High & Mighty (2019)—a four-track EP comprising outtakes from the Signs sessions alongside a sprawling live track—carries the same dark, tape-saturated analog warmth and raw emotional weight as its full-length sibling. Co-written with Doyle Bramhall II, the title track struts with a mid-tempo, swampy groove where Derek Trucks’s slide guitar delivers a stinging, vocal-like bite over a heavy, pulsing bassline and Kofi Burbridge’s classic Hammond B3 swells. The collection showcases remarkable stylistic range, shifting from the delicate, 3/4-time acoustic soul of Mike Mattison’s "All You Can Do" to a poignant cover of Scott Boyer’s "All My Friends" (famously recorded by Gregg Allman). Anchored by an explosive, nearly 12-minute live rendition of "Shame" recorded at the Chicago Theatre, the production preserves an uncompressed, wide-open soundstage that lets the room ambiance, warm tube saturation, and microtonal guitar details breathe fully.
