Nektar’s 1975 concept album Recycled is a virtuoso tour de force of symphonic progressive rock and futuristic space-rock, distinguished by its relentless kinetic energy and pioneering electronic orchestration. Built as two continuous, multi-part suites, the album’s soundscape is dominated by guest musician Larry Fast’s groundbreaking Moog synthesizer programming and Synergy electronic arrangements, which layer shimmering sequences, laser-like pitch bends, and vast, orchestral synth textures over the band's rock foundation. Roye Albrighton’s fluid, overdrive-saturated guitar work alternates between tight, syncopated rhythm chops and soaring, blues-inflected leads that lock into complex, odd-meter time signatures alongside Derek "Mo" Moore’s punchy, melodic basslines.
