Released in 2023 on ACT Music, the duo album pairs pianist Bill Laurance with Snarky Puppy founder Michael League—who sets aside his electric bass to perform entirely on acoustic fretted and fretless instruments, including the Mediterranean guimbri, oud, and acoustic guitar. Recorded in League’s studio in Catalonia, Spain, the record wraps Laurance’s lyrical, delicate piano touch around League’s resonant, woody string lines and subtle percussive taps, creating an expansive, desert-hued tapestry that draws gracefully on North African grooves, Andalusian folk, and chamber jazz stillness.
